ABOUT HARMONY MAIDSTONE

THE HARMONY MAIDSTONE COMMUNITY
We are Harmony Maidstone, we can’t wait to get to know you!
Harmony Maidstone, also known as Harmony Variety Clubs Ltd was founded by the late great Mr. John Kingdon in 1999. Having outgrown the small pub function room by 2004 John moved into St Hillary’s Hall in Mangravet Avenue, where Harmony remained for 20 years.
Having more recently served the community under the excellent stewardship of new Operation Manager Zoe Sparkle and her team, the centre has now closed following the end of its lease. Thanks however to the dedication of the team and the generosity of the community the Harmony charity is remaining active and we are moving out in the community to work in various venues around Maidstone in areas of music, theatre and visual art.
As a community experienced in the creative sector, neurodiversity, and mental health, our team is uniquely equipped to support young and vulnerable individuals overlooked by education and mental health systems. Based in Maidstone, Kent, Harmony uses the arts to combat isolation and build confidence. We host live music events for under-18s to develop skills and relationships. Through Harmonix, we help children and NEET youth grow through music, poetry, and performance and the Harmony Troupers works to allow people to write and produce their own theatre productions. We also offer volunteering and co-production opportunities to boost skills, confidence, and community involvement for those in need.
