Fun Palaces Community Event Returns to Maidstone Town Centre
One Maidstone BID is thrilled to announce the return of Fun Palaces to Maidstone on Saturday 4 October 2025, joining a free, nationwide campaign placing culture at the heart of community and community at the heart of culture.
This year, Maidstone Fun Palace will turn the town centre into a buzzing mix of art, science, music, tech, craft, sport—and most importantly, people—coming together to create, play and connect.
What’s Happening
From Brenchley Gardens to The Mall, Fremlin Walk, and Royal Star Arcade, expect a day packed with free, family-friendly fun, including:
- Pottery Painting & Raku Firing
- Dance, Drama & Musical Theatre workshops with Razzamataz and Proud PAC
- Electric Drum Workshop with AG Drums
- Sports tasters from Maidstone United, Invicta Volleyball, Maidstone Amateur Boxing Club and more
- Creative crafts, embroidery, giant community canvases and poetry/rap sessions with Paul Cree
- Interactive family music and singing, wellness challenges, and so much more!

This event is free and open to all, offering something for every age and interest.
Now in its 10th anniversary year, the Fun Palaces Weekend (4–6 October) invites everyone to share their skills, passions and creativity. Since 2014, over 45,000 people have helped create 2,500 Fun Palaces, engaging more than 800,000 participants across the UK.
