Maidstone Arts Group is thrilled to present their latest event in partnership with Harmony Arts Centre – welcome back to the Mash Up.
The Mash Up started as an experimental party. We wanted to see what happened when you introduced a live band to a room full of visual artists and dancers? And then tell them to make something up on the spot, in the same time, in the same space? With a live audience?
Turns out it makes magic!!!! …. Well it did the first two times. In fact it went so well we’ve decided to make it a quarterly event. So you now have four chances this year to come and party at Harmony with MAG, just four!! Don’t miss it.
Everyone will need to donate a minimum of £2 to the building to keep the lights running!!
Our evening’s concept:
THE REAL JAM SESSION
Ever wondered if the players in the band are just making it up as they go along? Well in this case yes they are, as the only rule to this jam is that it must be entirely improvised. A concert from some of the best pro musicians around, that you definitely have never heard before.
LIVE ART MADNESS
Real art, being made by real artists right in front of your face. If you’re a visual artist – you can get involved too! Just turn up with your materials of choice, get comfortable and join the fun. Both individual and communal works encouraged!
Whilst the jam is busy making the sounds, the dancers will be providing the spectacle. An entirely improvised routine from local pro choreographers and dancers.
It’s not a party unless there a bar, and here at MAG that is one of our core beliefs. Plus we’ll be toasting marshmallows in our outdoor space and there may even be actual food available too!
